The short version: Shopify is a popular platform for online stores, and it works for businesses in Iraq. Most Iraqi stores get paid with cash on delivery, which works well.
What you get
- Your own online store, in Arabic and English, that works well on phones.
- Your products with photos, prices and options like sizes or colours.
- Orders arriving in one place, with a notification for each new order.
- An easy admin to add products, change prices and follow orders yourself.
How customers pay
Cash on delivery is the most common way to buy online in Iraq, and it's built into Shopify.
Card or e-wallet payments depend on which payment providers are available for your store, and that changes over time. We check what's possible for you before promising anything.
What it costs
Shopify has a monthly plan that you pay to Shopify directly, usually by card. It keeps the store in your name. Some optional add-ons (apps) have their own monthly fees: we only suggest the ones you really need.
Our work (setting up the store) is a separate, clear quote.
Delivery
Most stores work with a local delivery company. Orders arrive in your store; you or your courier deliver them and collect the cash. You decide the delivery areas and prices, for example by governorate.
What to prepare
- Your product list: names, prices and options.
- Good photos of each product (a phone is fine: see our guide to getting ready).
- Where you deliver and how much delivery costs.
- Your return or exchange policy, in simple words.
- A card that works for online payments, for the Shopify plan.
